Area Map / Why Costa del Sol?The principle reason for buying property on the Costa del Sol is to enjoy the region’s fabulous weather and quality of life.
The “Sun Coast” enjoys one of the best, most reliable and healthiest climates in the world, with more than 300 days of sunshine per year. In winter months the climate is temperate, with average daytime temperatures of about 16 ˚C. It is a perfect climate during these months for playing golf, or for skiing and climbing in Sierra Nevada, just a couple of hours drive away.
At the height of summer, during July and August, temperatures reach around 35˚C and the choice of activities is almost limitless. Take your pick from kite surfing, wind surfing, hang gliding, cable skiing, jet skiing, sailing, power boating, horse riding, horse racing, tennis, paddle-tennis, polo, fishing (deep-sea, game fishing and coarse fishing), whale spotting, swimming, cycling, golf and volley ball, or just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine.
Less strenuous activities include enjoying the famous wines, restaurants, international shopping and nightlife in Marbella, and the exciting, jet-set lifestyle of the world-renowned marina and casino of Puerto Banus.
Short-haul flights from most of Europe fly direct to Malaga and Gibraltar airports daily. The Costa del Sol is also a driveable mainland destination. |
